    Since the start of cultivation of transgenic materials in 1996, large crops such as corn, soybeans and cotton have shown evolution and significant productivity leaps year after year. As a result, the benefits to civilization around the world now exceed $ 169 billion in productivity gains, equivalent to a savings of 174 million hectares, and a reduction in hunger and poverty for 165 million people.
